An Intimate Whytecliff Park Elopement

The perfect Whytecliff Park elopement for two lovebirds!

Whyte Cliff Park Elopement

Like many couples, Scott and Jodie had to totally change their wedding plans, thanks to COVID-19. Originally, they had planned to hold a micro wedding. But as the pandemic continued to change all of our lives, Jodie and Scott had to pivot. They decided they didn’t want to wait. They wanted to be married! And so, Jodie and Scott planned the perfect Whytecliff Park elopement.
For camera-shy Scott, an elopement was the perfect way for him to marry the love of his life without needing to be the centre of attention for too long. And, for a camera-shy guy, he sure did photograph well!
Their elopement at Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver started with an hour of portrait photography. I loved discovering all of the beautiful parts of the park with these two. And since it was just the two of them, we didn’t have to spend anytime gathering people or setting up photos. I encouraged them to just do what they love to do – hold hands, share kisses and enjoy big belly laughs together.
After an hour of elopement photography, it was time for the ceremony. Jodie and Scott joined up with their officiant and two witnesses. Once they were officially wed, their witnesses surprised the newlyweds with a picnic! They enjoyed a great spread of picnic goodies, including two adorable cupcakes that said “Mr. and Mrs.” The best part? Jodie and Scott got to just enjoy that feeling of being married and spend time with their two close friends, something not all brides and grooms get to do on their wedding day!
Following their sweet elopement, Scott and Jodie headed to Whistler for a mini-moon, a local honeymoon. Their original plan was to honeymoon in Mexico but, of course, COVID changed that. But once things settle down, Jodie and Scott do look forward to celebrating with their friends and family, and taking that honeymoon to Mexico!

PS: Did you know Jodie and Scott are now my fourth couple whose marriage began with swiping right? I love how modern technology is bringing people together! These two connected online and then went on a dog walk for their first date, which lasted hours. The rest was history!
