Whistler winter wedding at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center

Brides aren’t the only ones who dream of a Winter Wedding. Photographers do too! For 2016, it was part of my bucket list to photograph a winter wedding and engagement. I’m happy to share that both have been crossed off the list.

On the afternoon of January 19, 2017, this photographer’s dream finally came true. A cool breeze of luck blew my way and I was selected by Natasha and Andrew to photograph their Winter Wedding at Whistler, British Columbia.

Both hailing from Australia, the couple chose Whister to be the perfect location for their destination wedding due to the bride’s history with the famed tourist spot. Natasha used to work in Whister a few years back. She introduced Andrew to this winter wonderland and they both fell in love with the gorgeous scenery that it had to offer.

With family and friends coming from all over the world, the wedding day was certainly filled with much excitement and anticipation.

The couple and their entourage made their wedding preparations at Four Seasons Whister. The bride, in pristine perfection, carried a bouquet of dainty white flowers as she walked the aisle of the Istken Hall of the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center. Andrew was all smiles as he watched his bride approach between the rows of white candle light.

At last, the moment had arrived. Natasha and Andrew said their “I dos” amidst a beautiful backdrop of white snow and the dream of a winter wonderland come to life.

More magical moments ensued as the newly-weds celebrated their reception at The Cellar / Bar Oso. The décor stayed on-theme as the crisp white hydrangeas evoked the couple’s winter fantasy and the purity of their love and commitment as husband and wife.

Congratulations Natasha and Andrew!
